MEET JOHN ORTIZ

Known as "Verizon John" by some, Oxnard-born John Carillo Ortiz was a Field Technician for Verizon Communications for 32 years responsible for installation and maintenance of FIOS Internet, television and voice services. John has been in, under and around many homes in Malibu and has an intimate knowledge of the particular needs of Malibu residents. 

A resident of Malibu for 12 years, since retiring from Verizon in 2014 John established JCO Technologies and has been busier than a Beirut bricklayer providing a wide range of services to Malibu and the outside world:  audio visual, home theater, security, gate entry systems and other services, including what he calls EGR - Emergency Glitch Response to residents whose internet or WiFi or land line/cell phone or security systems are malfunctioning. 

The cell and Internet service in Malibu is infamously spotty. They made fun of it on Entourage. John is aware of that inconsistent service and also how some of the unique homes of Malibu have unique needs for spreading Internet and cell service to every corner of large houses and large lots.
